How to Download Your Instagram Data

Follow these steps to export your followers and following list from Instagram.

    STEP 01

    Open "Export your information"

    In the Instagram app, go to your profile → Menu (☰) → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information.

    STEP 02

    Create an export to your device

    Tap "Create export", choose your Instagram profile, then choose "Export to device".

    STEP 03

    Choose only followers and following

    Under "Customize information", deselect everything and select only "Followers and following".Set "Date range" to "All time" and "Format" to JSON (not HTML).

    STEP 04

    Start the export and wait

    Tap "Start export".Instagram notifies you when the file is ready — this can take from a few minutes to several hours.

    Download the ZIP and upload it here

    Download the file from "Export your information" and upload the ZIP as is.Do not unzip it or rename the files inside.

Menu names can differ slightly by app version and language.If you chose HTML or a shorter date range, create a new export with JSON and All time — a shorter range can leave older followers out.
